Privacy Policy

In short
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, pixels, or advertising trackers.
The only personal information we hold is an email address, and only if you chose to give us one. We use it to send you Oryx Research Group updates — nothing else, and no one else gets it.
You can leave at any time, and we will delete you on request.
Who we are
Oryx Research Group (“Oryx”, “we”) is the data controller for this website, oryxresearch.org. We are based in the United States. You can reach us at [email protected] for any question about this policy or your data.
What we collect
We collect information in exactly one place: the subscribe form. If you submit it, we receive
- the email address you enter;
- which page and which form you submitted from;
- campaign parameters (
utm_sourceand similar) if you arrived through a tagged link; - the referring website, if your browser sent one.
We do not ask for your name, and we do not collect one. If you email us directly, we hold that correspondence in order to reply to it.
What we do not do
- No cookies are set by this website.
- No analytics, no pixels, no fingerprinting, and no advertising or social trackers.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we never will.
- Your email stays with Oryx. Oryx is part of a wider group of companies. We do not pass your address to them, and we do not use an Oryx research subscription to market anything else to you.
Why we may do it
Your consent, which you give by submitting the form and can withdraw at any moment. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and free of abuse for the limited technical records described below.
Who else processes it
We keep this list short on purpose, and we will update it if it changes.
- Beehiiv — stores the mailing list and delivers the emails.
- Vercel — hosts the site. Its server logs briefly record request data, including IP addresses, as a normal part of serving pages.
- Cloudflare— provides DNS and protects the site from attack and automated abuse. It processes IP addresses and may set its own security cookie in your browser. That cookie is Cloudflare’s, not ours, and we cannot read it.
Where your data goes
We operate from the United States, and the providers above are US-based. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your information is transferred to and stored in the United States, which has different data protection law than your home country.
How long we keep it
Your email address stays on the list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. Then it goes. We do not keep a “suppression” copy beyond what is needed to honor your request.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, send you a copy, or stop using it. If you are in the EEA or the UK you have these rights under the GDPR, along with the right to complain to your data protection authority. If you are in California you have comparable rights under the CCPA — and note that we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there.
Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link. For anything else, write to [email protected] and we will act within 30 days. We will not ask you why.
Children
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has subscribed, email us and we will remove the record.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell subscribers by email before it takes effect.
